Tis' the season!

yes. it thats time of the year where flowers start blooming-pollen turns your car yellow and eating outside is best way to go...but more importantly its that time of the season for PARTIES!!! whether its a debutante garden party, a sip and see baby shower, or a wild and crazy night out on the town for a bachelorette party- you'll need to the perfect dress for each occasion! if you are like me with a tight budget-buying a nice dress for each occasion can be VERY COSTLY and burn a whole in those pockets!

You can ALWAYS borrow a dress from one of your friend’s but- i find a few things usually go wrong with that choice- 1. she has probably worn it before and therefore most of you inner circle has seen it 2. having a friend who has the EXACT same body type as you is like finding a boy who is EXACTLY how you imagined prince charming to be-therefore more than likely it will not fit nor look near as cute on you as it looked on your friend and lastly 3. i have learned the dry cleaners DO NOT get every type of stain out-yikes!!)

SO whats the next best option you ask? RENT THE RUNWAY!! while i was watching my daily dose of hoda and kathy lee i was introduced to this amazing website by them! Basically the name says exactly what it is!! sooo here we gooo....

1. become a member of the website (its free but sometimes u have a wait a little while for them to accept you-but definitely worth the wait!!)

2. once you become a member you can log in and browse their AMAZING selection of dresses (they have EVERY INCREDIBLE designer you could possibly think of- catherine malandrino-herve leger-nicole miller-dvf-yada yada yada...)

3. Next just select the type of dress that best suits your occasion and GET THIS- you rent it for nearly 75% of the original cost!!

4. Lastly they will ship you the dress AND a second size (incase you miscalculated some of your measurements-wink wink)

5. FINALLY- you get the dress-wear it to the party- look like the queen of the ball in a fabulous designer dress-then ship it back-simple enough right??

I have selected some of my favorite dresses from this website for different occasions below!!

How to tie a knot right....

THE NAUTICAL LOOK....

The right way of pulling off the nautical look without looking like captain the sailor man.. .

1. ALWAYS tie in khaki somehow so you can achieve the "preppy" look instead of captain bob.

2. ONLY where ONE striped piece of clothing at one time.

3. Mix in either a little red or blue (not BOTH unless its fourth of july)

4. FINALLY just look relaxed because you’re on a yacht (or maybe sailboat but still.....enjoy yourself and be comfortable!!)

Denim Dan

VS.
i've got the blues- and its a good thing! one of my new favorite looks for spring 2010 is DENIM. Even though some people may think its a taboo to wear denim on denim (these are the same type of people who also think you cant wear white before Easter).. I am here to let you know- it is definitely NOT.

Now every girl can look like they just rode a horse right out of a Ralph Lauren ad without breaking the bank. The Key to making it look chic and effortless is (1) make sure to pair different washes/distress looks together (never wear all the same color denim at once) (2) if you go slim and tight on the bottom, loosen up on the top or vice versa (3) accessorize with a great pair of brown leather clogs or turquoise jewelry to break up all the denim.

Follow these tips and you should stay clear of pulling a jay leno off or better known as a denim dan.

UGGly

A recent article by Daily Mail proved why knock off ugg boots can be a serious health risk to women's precious feet. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU for giving me one more reason NEVER to purchase knock offs any shape or form of an ugg boot. Its bad enough that women continue to wear these awful shaped boots season after season -EVEN though they do not flatter or enhance any outfit what so ever! Hopefully now with medical expert advice- women will put a stop to the ugg boots.

Dr. Ian Drysdale, the head of the British College of Osteopathic Medicine, said, “Because these boots are warm and soft, young girls think they are giving their feet a break. In fact, they are literally breaking their feet.” Drysdale continued, “Their feet are slipping around inside. With each step, the force falls towards the inside of the foot and the feet splay. This flattens the arch and makes it drop. The result can be significant problems with the foot, the ankle, and ultimately, the hip.”

NEUTRAL ZONE!

annnnnd the color for S/S 10 is (drum roll please).... TAN!! who cant pull off that color- right? i love love love that 90's nude is back and whats even greater is- if you purchase it in the right pieces (fyi-a great trench or an amazing pair of trousers) it will become a classic staple in your wardrobe every season.

Oscars' SMACK down

After watching the Oscars this past weekend- there was ONE trend that I noticed every celeb wearing that I could actually afford without having to sell my car, my blackberry (this would be the last to go), or my little sister so I could look like the queen of the ball in a glowing sequin Marchesa gown like Sandra Bullock- and NO I'm not referring to Spanxs' either! I'm talking about the showdown of who wore BRIGHT COLORED LIPSTICK the best.

You too can add a pop of color to your ensemble by just purchasing a tube of lipstick all under $30 dollars- AND its okay to wear it two days in a row!

1. Coco Rouge by Chanel worn by Sandra
2. Schiap by Nars worn by Maggie
3. Chili by MAC worn by Cameron
